Frequently Asked Questions…
Questions About Submissions
Are you currently accepting submissions?
Yes! We always are, but only for the topics currently posted on the Book Topics page. If you have a suggestion for a book topic, please submit it on the Contact Us page, but wait to submit your story for that topic until it’s live on the website.
Writing isn’t my strong suit, should I still submit my story?
Yes! For compelling stories that we want to feature in a book, we will help with editing and formatting. Some stories may be eligible for ghost writing, where you tell your story and one of our editors gets it into written format. We will NOT make or publish any changes to your story without your consent. The important thing is to get your story submitted (following the Submission Guidelines!) and make sure we have your correct contact information.
Will I be compensated for my story submission?
Submissions do not receive any compensation. If your submission is published in one of our books, then you will receive compensation. It can take months or even years before a book is published, so it is important to ensure your contact information is up to date so we can notify you if and when your story is published.
What if I have more than one story for a book title?
If you have more than one story for the same title, you may submit both. But please don’t submit the same story multiple times. This is not a lottery, it won’t increase your chances of getting published!
What happens if my story is published? How will I know?
When your story is selected for publication, we will notify you via email and will obtain your written permission to print your story. You will have final say on any changes or edits, the title, your name/pen name prior to publication. Because we receive so many submissions, you won’t receive notification if it isn’t chosen.
What if my contact information changes after I’ve submitted?
Please Contact Us to let us know of any changes. Include the original date and title of your submission.
Do I need to be a US citizen?
Absolutely not! We publish stories from people living all over the world. In fact, it is one of our goals to show how our human experiences have many similarities, in spite of geographic, religious, cultural and other differences.
